Our staff consists of many talented designers, instructors, educators and creative minds. Over the years Colerain has built an amazing team to produce one of the best color guards in the nation.
Amanda Morris
Director
Originally from the Lone Star state, Amanda moved to the Midwest to continue her color guard experience after high school. She performed with the Phantom Regiment from 2001-2005 and the Pride of Cincinnati from 2005-2008 & 2010. While continuing her journey as a performing member, Amanda joined the Colerain color guard staff in 2007. She has also taught many tristate area high schools including Miamisburg H.S., Springboro H.S., Sycamore H.S., Northmont H.S. and Dunbar H.S. Her other accomplishments include teaching Carolina Crown 2007-2008 & 2013 (Caption Head), Santa Clara Vanguard 2009-2012, Zydeco 2011, and the Pride of Cincinnati 2012-2013. Amanda is also an active board member for the TriState Marching Arts as a Scholastic A respresentative.

Kayne O'Brien
Instructor/ Choreographer
Kayne O’Brien is originally from Columbia, Illinois and currently resides in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has been involved in this activity for over 10 years and has taught many high school and college programs throughout Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. He graduated from Eastern Illinois University with his Bachelor's degree in secondary education - social studies. From 2008 - 2010 Kayne performed with The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps and in 2015 performed with the Pride of Cincinnati. Kayne's color guard teaching career includes Mandarins Drum & Bugle Corps from 2012-2014, director of the University of Illinois Marching Illini Color Guard, Mahomet-Seymour High School for three years, and from 2012 to 2014 he started his own independent winter guard, Blue Horizon, to give students in the central Illinois area an opportunity to perform on a national stage. Kayne is a current staff member of the Colts Drum & Bugle Corps, Allegoria and Juxtaposition. This is his second year on staff at Colerain High School and he is so excited to learn from and work with such an amazingly talented group of people and students.

Brittany Stover
Instructor
Brittany graduated from Lakota West High School where she performed in the Fall and Winter Guard programs from 2012-2014. After taking a year off to focus on college, she continued with the activity through Allegoria Winter Guard for the 2016 and 2017 seasons. "I started teaching at Beechwood High School last Fall, and it has been such an amazing experience being on the opposite side of the performance floor and helping kids excel at their passion!" When she's not spinning, or helping flags go 'round, she's cuddling with her three dogs or binge watching "Fixer Upper".

Bio
Richard Hinshaw
Visual Designer
Richard Hinshaw is a visual designer and music educator with 24 years of experience in the marching arts. After growing up in Central Indiana, Richard studied trumpet at the Indiana University School of Music while also performing in the Glassmen Drum & Bugle Corps.
Richard is currently the drill designer and lead visual instructor for the Avon High School. Richard is enjoying his 16th year working with the nationally acclaimed bands, percussion ensembles, and color guards at Avon.
On the Drum Corps International Tour, Richard designs for The Cavaliers from Rosemont, Illinois (2012, 2016-present) and has also designed for The Academy from Tempe, Arizona (2009-2013). As a freelance designer, Hinshaw has worked with several other high achieving ensembles such as Gateway Indoor Percussion, visual designer for Monarch Independent Percussion, Colerain High School Winter Guard, Owasso High School, Vista Ridge High School, and Kickapoo High School.
Since 2011, Richard has served on the esteemed WGI Percussion Advisory Board and also enjoys being a freelance adjudicator for marching band, winter guard, and indoor percussion competitions around the country. Richard resides in Avon, Indiana with his amazing wife Jennifer, and their beautiful children McKinley, Coleman, and Annalise.
